Q&A: Microsoft security essentials wont update due to a network connectivity issue.?

Question by : Microsoft safety essentials wont update due to a network connectivity issue.?
Is there some thing I can do to make it update. I recently reformatted my laptop since i had a virus so I want to be able to do the update. Is Microsoft essentials a excellent anti virus anyway? Is there one thing much better?

Totally free MSE is a great AV, it will not update ? do a totally free on the internet scan then see if it will update:

I lately reformatted my laptop because i had a virus – was it a virus or malware, if it was malware run cost-free malwarebytes.
