Hi, I have a virus that won’t let me download antivirus programmes. I somehow managed to download Microsoft Security Essentials but I couldn’t update it so it is basically useless. What ought to I do? I looked around on the internet 1st to see if I could locate anything but I can not. Ahead of replying, please note that:

-I have attempted safe mode with networking but I nevertheless cannot download antivirus.
-I know that I can download antivirus from an additional computer and transfer it but my laptop runs on a 64 bit OS and my personal computer runs on a 32 bit OS. I also don’t know any individual with a pc that runs on a 32 bit OS.

@The Phlebob – I tried downloading onto a USB and then placing it onto my pc but it nevertheless has to do the whole downloading issue once again which the virus won’t let. I talked about the 32- and 64-bit OS due to the fact I attempted to copy the files of McAfee which I have installed on my laptop and then transferring it onto the personal computer through a USB but it says one thing about how it is the incorrect OS or one thing.

I’ve been which means to install an antivirus*, Ideally I’D rather download Microsoft Security Essentials.
Even if it really is not the best out there, I believed It’d be safer to download from microsoft rather of getting to search for a secure spot to dl the alternatives.

-So I Went to www.microsoft.com -Clicked on the MSE link, when asked to download I noticed it mentioned “Fullinstall ..From ..Mse.dlservice.microsoft.com”

My dad got the desktop computer infected,He sent it in for a tune up, I think he ended up re-infecting it correct away -_- (Funny story) in the end he has norton 2011 & CA, I know it’s a poor thought havinng two//but theres no use talking any sense into him.lol

I am most likely becoming paranoid but I’m afraid of catching a worm or something on me lappy, it becoming on the very same network and all.

So my question is, I find this download a lil suspicious, I’m not 100% it’s the correct address. How can I tell? truly……MSSE?
